The band is bringing something different, a traditional sound with an anthemic classic rock style, and a touch of blues.
Nick Cody and the Heartache are an independent alternative indie rock group from Bradford, England. Their new single That Gal is a perfect example of why their music is so popular. It is upbeat, positive, fun and enjoyable.
It’s all about discovering new music, and here we go with one more release by Nick Cody and The Heartache. Obviously, we were listening to it the whole week. Who can resist rock-style blues?
I don’t know if music can be called timeless, but this I know for sure — Nick Cody And The Heartache’s music will go down in history as some of their songs are created specifically for that, on purpose, rediscovering beauties of the past.

We figured out that there are many excellent tracks that the band Nick Cody And The Heartache has released on Spotify, but the one that is our favourite is the song “That Gal” – an anthem about a woman other than a lover, a gal who may come into your life when you least expect it. Who knows? We can just see that it has a good artistic quality in terms of lyrics as well as instrumentation.
Actually, the lyrics are based on the history of a real woman and she has something to say about it. On hearing this track, Scarlet Rivera commented…
“I’m honoured that you wrote this excellent song that memorializes my role on the Rolling Thunder Revue tour working closely with Bob Dylan, and love the lyrics!”

If you are looking for music that will get you moving, this is the one. Music from Nick Cody And The Heartache contains elements of country, blues, classic rock & rhythm and blues (R&B) and Western swing with a mixture of rockabilly influence.
WHO IS NICK?
Nick Cody is a fiercely independent artist, provocative blogger, guest speaker and founder of the Music for the Head & Heart and Green Eyed Records platforms. Both platforms promote artist collaboration and artist empowerment. Nick’s previous releases with “The Small Change Diaries” and “The Caravan of Dreams” ensembles, paved the way for this new roots-based release.
It’s not just guitar & drums but piano, violin and fiddle in a fusion of genres which make up this band’s music. It’s nostalgic and personally, I like this kind of music that can transport us to another time.
I am a big fan of this track — and have been since the moment I first heard it on May 13th. A lot of things came together on this one: great arrangement, catchy melodies, and memorable hooks. “That Gal” is one of those tracks that sticks in your head and can’t be shaken loose — and with good reason. The quality level is high from top to bottom. The track never gets stuck in a rut or enters autopilot mode.
If you love Americana, Blues, Indie Rock, Classic Rock, Rhythm and Blues, Soft Rock, Singer-Songwriter, Full Band…backed with a classic sound and anthemic lyrics – Cody’s music could be for you. Take a listen to this energetic track and follow the band on Spotify.
