Charlie Steady’s Music Is Full of Art Rock and Pop in a Different Style That Is Perfect for Today’s Music Lovers

Will Lisil 9 June 2022

Charlie Steady‘s musical style can be described as pop art-rock that is joyful and contemplative.

This is particularly the case in Unfulfilled Genius of Martin Street, with a diverse amount of instruments brought to the song giving a joyful sound, which can transport us to reggae-rock. Another good track is Once Upon A Time I Fell In Love, and this is a special one.

Introspective and melancholy, “Once Upon a Time I Fell in Love”, and also “Out of Control Pathos” are the 4th side A/B single in support of CHARLIE STEADY’s 2nd full-length album titled Magpie, which will be released in September of 2022.

We have included a few of Steady’s new songs in one of our playlists, and you can listen to the full playlist if you click the button below. Additionally, you can find out more about the artist by scrolling down the page.

This album contains two songs that tell the story of Magpie, the album’s main character, as he journeys to become a musical star in the Big City, which is the place where every dream of fame can be realized.

Charlie Steady is a singer-songwriter from the United States, Fresno. His latest single, “Once Upon A Time I Fell in Love,” is an art-rock song that uses classic sound to create an easy listening experience. The music is full of soul-rock and indie-pop influences that are perfect for today’s music lovers.

“Once Upon A Time I Fell in Love”, on side A, is a good example of both ballads and synth-pop songs about the insecurity we all have about everything including giving and receiving love.

Through the intriguing lyrics, the persona Magpie questions whether love is in their fate and whether love is something that can bring them happiness or will only serve to distract them from their creative journey.

The music incorporates a ballad piano structure alongside a synth-pop rhythm section that acts as the heartbeat of the song. Throughout the song, Magpie describes her internal dialogue on what love is all about, both on a personal note and from a broader philosophical perspective.

On side B you will find the song Out of Control Pathos, which has the feel of Indie music and is about Magpie’s excitement and future aspirations about finally being able to make it to The Big City. A resemblance is displayed in the style of the song to indie rock/pop of the mid-2010s, with references to such artists as Mac Demarco, whose lyrical style can be described as whimsical and optimistic.

The singer’s voice is warm and passionate as he sings about feelings, which is also a positive point. Now it’s time to check it out, listen to his previous releases and follow the artist on Spotify.
