1) SAMUEL JOSON – What Can We Do?
Samuel Joson is the name of an up-and-coming indie-pop artist who released his single What Can We Do? earlier this year.
The song is a love song with a catchy melody, but it’s also got some serious rock elements. It’s got a Beach Boys vibe to it but with a modern twist. The singer’s voice is clear and strong, but he also shows off his range in the chorus by hitting higher notes than you might expect from someone with such a smooth-sounding voice.
Described as a feel-good, groovy song, “What Can You Do?” basically tries to convey the message that one cannot force love. I am sure that this will be a song played over and over all summer long because of its wonderful lyricism, catchy vocal melodies, and impressive musicianship. This is a very catchy tune that gets caught in your head and makes you feel good.
What Can We Do? is a great song for anyone looking for something fun to listen to on their commute home from work or just chill out with at home after a long day at work. Check the artist’s previous releases and follow him on Spotify.
2) 1ST BASE RUNNER – Near Me
We are happy to introduce you to 1ST BASE RUNNER! This talented artist is based in Austin, TX, and has released a new single called Near Me earlier this year. The track combines elements of alt-rock, post-punk, shoegaze, dream pop and electronic music to create an upbeat sound that will get you moving.
We love how it sounds like something out of the 80s but with a modern twist on it—think Cyndi Lauper meets Ladytron.
Besides the repetitive lyrics, it’s about music and dance, and it works very well. Close your eyes and enjoy the rhythm.

3) MY FRIEND THE CHIMPANZEE – Twin Moons
Do you know what I love about independent music? It’s the fact that you can find so many new, exciting artists in a genre. You never know what you’re going to get! That’s why I’m here today to tell you about MY FRIEND THE CHIMPANZEE.
The duo is composed of indie pop artists based in Vienna, Austria and these days they’ve been gaining a lot of traction with the single Twin Moons.
The song has a dreamy feel with electronic elements and synth-pop influences that combine for a melodic pop sound with a heavy metal twist, which is just so catchy and euphoric!

4) SOA – Maybe It’s The Moon
Dreamy, experimental, and relaxing—there’s something about the music of SOA that makes you want to close your eyes and drift away.
Maybe It’s The Moon, her latest EP released on Spotify, is a collection of three songs that capture the essence of dream pop. But don’t think this was just another run-of-the-mill indie release; these tracks are much more than that.
SOA is based out of Vancouver and her style is influenced by her Brazilian background. She combines the sounds of Brazil with electronic pop and dreamy vocals to create an experience that draws you in immediately.
The songs on Maybe It’s The Moon are perfect for winding down after a long day or when you’re ready to hit the pillow at night; they’re also great for studying or working on creative projects because they’ll get those creative juices flowing!
In off: The parts she is singing in Portuguese are sexy and wow, what a voice. Check out her work and follow the artist on Spotify.
5) THE FAMILIAR INTERCOURSE OF SOCIETY – Brutes@barbarianS
I love discovering new music, especially when it’s from an independent artist from another country, it’s an international vision of what is indie.
The Familiar Intercourse of Society is one of my new favourite acts in this genre, and their single Brutes@barbarianS is a mix of the past and future. The future of music is the mixing of genres and these guys just mixed Jazz with a rocky melody.
The track has a lot of different elements—alt-rock, jazz-pop, quirky art-rock—but it all feels cohesive because of the singer’s fantastic voice. It sounds like he just woke up from a nap in a hammock somewhere in Amsterdam and decided to start singing.
But instead of sounding sleepy or bored, he sounds full of energy and enthusiasm. It’s hard not to get caught up in his energy! Check out the band’s previous releases and follow them on Spotify.
6) RUTO – Pan Dulce
If you’re looking for a little something new to listen to this weekend, check out RUTO’s Pan Dulce. The album is a little bit dreamy and a little bit psych pop-rock, with lyrics in Spanish and English. It’s the perfect album for a night in with your friends or a reflexive afternoon at home.
The band is based in Los Angeles, CA and they have got some serious bedroom pop chops with his dreamy vocals and synth-heavy beats. The music itself is washed-out shoegaze style that will take you back to the good old days of Cocteau Twins and Slowdive.
“A love letter to music and the beautiful troubles of life.”
Various artists collaborated on this album, and the result was an intriguing album, in a good way. To bring the music and visuals to life, LA locals and natives worked together.
A variety of introspective thoughts are reflected in the music and art in an explosion of sound and colour. The artist, Ruto, explores a range of emotions through his music, from sombre melodies to dream pop, bedroom pop, indie rock, and soul. These sounds of the diverse influences converge to create a genre of its own.
You can check out the full album and follow the band on Spotify.
7) ANTHONY BYRNE – Exhale
Indie artists are some of the most interesting people out there because they’re doing what they love and taking chances on their own terms, which is so cool!
In the past couple of weeks, I’ve been hearing about this artist, an Irish-based singer who goes by the name ANTHONY BYRNE. He’s released a bunch of singles on Spotify and SoundCloud and YouTube, but his latest single is called Exhale.
Anthony Byrne is a singer-songwriter who creates music in the indie pop, electronic, alternative and lo-fi pop genres. His latest single Exhale, released last month, is a catchy tune that combines elements of indie pop with electronica and alternative rock. It’s sure to get you moving!

8) FOE – Diamonds (feat. Alina Valentina)
Israel-based indie musician FOE‘s single, Diamonds – (feat. Alina Valentina), is the perfect soundtrack for your next night out.
The song is a dark pop ballad with an emotional edge, melodic synth touches and soft vocals. It has an 80s vibe that will make you want to dance.
His music has been described as “cinematic” in nature, if you’re into dark and cinematic indie pop, FOE is the artist you need to check out.
As a solo artist based out of Tel Aviv, he’s been making waves in the independent music industry with his unique sound and style.
His latest single, Diamonds (feat. Alina Valentina), is a perfect example of his ability to blend different genres together seamlessly.
It starts off with a haunting synth-heavy beat that builds until it explodes into an upbeat rock tune with soaring female vocals and an infectious chorus that’ll have you singing along before you know it! Check it out and follow the artist on Spotify.
9) MADDU – Now
If you’ve been feeling nostalgic for the early 2000s, you’re in luck. British singer MADDU has just released his new single “Now,” and it sounds like it could have come straight out of the Shins or Arcade Fire’s Casablanca album.
In his new single, MADDU explores folk-pop and singer-songwriter style, which makes it easy to listen to soft rock. His music style has been compared to artists like Ben Howard, Passenger and Ed Sheeran.
“This song is for everyone who is going through any difficulties in life and is just looking to break free from all the noise. It is for those who have insecurities and are NOW learning to love themselves. It’s for those who are trying and never giving up on chasing their dreams.”
The song is a nostalgic journey back to when indie pop was booming in the UK and Europe with bands like The Kooks and Kaiser Chiefs leading the way. It’s a throwback to simpler times when indie-pop music wasn’t trying so hard to raise on streaming services.
I truly recommend this one, just catchy and emotional with meaningful lyrics! Check it out and follow the artist on Spotify.
10) MADDISUN – Don’t Say No
Indie pop singer-songwriter Maddisun has released her first single of 2022, “Don’t Say No.” The track is a melodic, uplifting tune that mixes 80’s-inspired pop with contemporary rock.
It’s about the struggle to be yourself in a world where you’re pressured to conform, and how easy it is to forget how awesome you are when you’re feeling down.
The song was produced by PSY Sound Records in LA, and starts off with a simple melody and builds from there into a melodic pop-rock anthem that will make you want to sing along with every word.
It’s clear that Maddisun has been influenced by some of the greats in pop history, she even sounds like Taylor Swift, but she has managed to carve out her own niche in the genre while still staying true to her roots as an alternative soft rocker.
“I travelled to LA. to record this song with PSY Sound records. After feeling like I got a million no’s from the universe, I decided to say yes. I was manifesting greatness and feeling in my power. This is a positive and uplifting song about saying YES to life and its crazy opportunities. A bright indie-pop vibe with a driving beat, this song will make you want to cruise around at night with your friends, walk around in ur fav jeans, and just inspire you to take a chance on yourself”
MADDISUN
Maddison is based in British Columbia, Canada and has been working on her debut EP for some time. This is the first single from her upcoming album “Home is Where the Music is”. Check out the artist’s previous release and follow her on Spotify. Her music is truly art!
