Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’ Music Video Hits 3 Billion Views On YouTube

Will Lisil 19 July 2022

The 2014 clip is Swift’s second video to hit the milestone.

We can join Taylor Swift in celebrating yet another milestone as we eagerly await her next album re-recording. The pop star’s music video for “Blank Space” reached 3 billion views on YouTube on Monday (July 18).

  • Mrberdo’s “P.A.P” Album: A New Side in Hardcore and Electronic Pop
  • Abe Shaw Sings Soft R&B Sounds with New Song “Bonnet”
  • Misha Mandy’s Empowering Anthem “Fading Out” Redefines Indie Pop
  • Terra Renae’s Soulful Pop Sounds of Self-Discovery in Debut Album “All I Have”
  • Why Them: Catlea’s Bold Assertion of Independence

Originally released as the second single from Swift’s blockbuster 1989 album, “Blank Space” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2014. A seven-week No. 1 ranking makes “Blank Space” the longest-running No. 1 single for the 11-time Grammy winner. At the 58th annual Grammy Awards, the song was also nominated for record of the year, song of the year, and best pop solo performance. While “Black Space” lost all of its nominations, its corresponding album 1989 won both album of the year and best pop vocal album.

The Joseph Kahn-directed music video for “Blank Space” won best female video and best pop video at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. This is Swift’s second 1989 video to cross 3 billion views on YouTube; “Shake It Off” is her first.

Swift released “This Love (Taylor’s Version)” earlier this year, fueling speculation that 1989 might be the next album to be re-recorded. “This Love” topped out at No. 50 on the Hot 100, surpassing the original, which failed to chart. This Love is the second 1989 track that the pop star has re-recorded. After going viral on TikTok, Taylor revealed “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)” in September 2021.

The 32-year-old singer has kept fans engaged with recent releases such as “Carolina,” the original song she wrote and recorded for Where the Crawdads Sing, and “The Joker and the Queen,” a reworked duet version from Ed Sheeran’s = album. In both cases, the singles reached No. 21 and No. 60 on the Hot 100.

The video for “Blank Space” can be viewed below.
