As the curator at PopHits.News, I must say, “Chrysalis is a masterpiece that intertwines spacey, neo-vintage psychedelic pop with intricate musical arrangements, making it an essential listen for fans of the genre.”
Comparable to the ethereal sounds of Beach House and the gritty edge of The Strokes, Plasma Chasms have impressively fused multiple elements to create an album that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly innovative. Their journey started humbly, but Chrysalis showcases their meteoric rise. Each track on this album is a unique level of a cosmic elevator, combining melodic guitars, vocal hooks, bass grooves, and dreamy synths to explore themes of the human condition’s vast expanse. It feels like an existential delve into reality, where every single sound is meticulously crafted to evoke deep emotions and contemplative thoughts. This is where indie melodic pop rock meets hard rock in a surreal dance that is impossible to ignore.
Plasma Chasms’ choice to root their music in dream pop and garage rock has granted them a veritable platform among both North American and Australian culture appreciators. There’s a retro guitar rock pop vibe that calls back to an era of pure musical exploration, yet it stands firmly in contemporary soundscapes. The band has encapsulated elements of Psychedelic Rock and Alt Rock Pop so seamlessly within their songs. Tracks on Chrysalis reverberate with art rock sophistication and power pop allure, defining a sound that is entirely their own.
The male vocals resonate through each song, adding layers to the evocative lyrics and immersive soundscapes. An existential look into reality certainly isn’t hyperbole—Chrysalis invites listeners to contemplate their place within the universe. From the moment the first note hits to the album’s closing track, it’s clear that this collection is the result of a passionate, creative process honed in Los Angeles, yet universal in its appeal.
